While watching television on any given day, I get disgusted with the wide selection of mainstream shows that have ridiculously bad writing, commercial fluff, or promote low class ideals like the soap opera stories that accompany the WWF.

Television ought to be created with purpose or impact. There is also so much that individuals are creating at home that needs to be promoted. My vision is to promote programming that may only be seen at art house theatres or at a place like Kim’s video.

For the rest of the semester, I would like to develop a fictitious television network identity. The name of the station is TVb. TVb is a network of cult films, B-movies and independent films. The goal is to attract a audience with unusual and extraordinary taste. I wish to glorify the “intelligent couch potato” and create a cult following for people who reject mainstream TV.
